Educational trainings on HIV are available to physicians, nurses, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, dental professionals, pharmacists, and other health care workers that provide quality HIV care throughout the state of Virginia. These courses serve to enhance knowledge and skills in delivering quality services to patients/clients and the community to promote primary and secondary prevention of HIV infection. Training programs are tailored to the learning needs of both the provider and organization. Training modalities include on-site clinical training, preceptorships, didactic courses, workshops, capacity building programs, clinical consultation and technical assistance.

These education opportunities are sponsored through the HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration through a subcontract with the University of Pittsburgh (Grant No. 5 H4AHA00060-06-00).
